Eliminate Mold with Fast-Acting MDF-500
Through funding provided by the US Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Security Administration's (NSA) Chemical and Biological National Security Program (CBNP), under contract DE-AC04-94AL85000, Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) developed MDF's original base formulation.
In July 2000, SNL provided all field-of-use licenses to Modec, Inc. for its manufacture and commercial sale. SNL's base formulation technique (hydrolysis) was then enhanced to maximize detoxification and neutralization performance while protecting human health. Resulting solutions became powerful, nontoxic, biodegradable, noncorrosive, oxidizing agents, capable of neutralizing various chemical and biological agents, including mustard gas, VX, cyanides, Bacillus anthracis AMES-RIID and ANR-1, hydrogen and sodium cyanide, butyl isocyanate, carbon disulfide, anhydrous ammonia, and soman.
Modec, Inc.'s most applauded product, MDF-500, is a binary solution that becomes a hunter for fungi, bacteria, and viruses. With a surfactant wetting out and surrounding the target with positively charged micelles, it draws oxidizing species directly into microbes. Since MDF's application techniques were developed with federal funding, the US government has certain rights in the base formulation invention and deployment protocols. Thus, full-strength formulas are available only to qualified professionals. ATI is an authorized applicator of MDF formulas, including foam, mist, and fog applications.
